Image Resizer | Resize, Crop, and Convert to WebP
Resize images to exact pixels in your browser with WebP/PNG/JPEG output, quality control, crop or padding modes, Instagram, blog, and OG presets.
JPEG cannot keep transparency. Padding color is used for fit mode and for transparent pixels in JPEG output. Files stay in your browser. Target size is limited to 4096px per side and 12 million pixels total.
Choose an image, then set a target size to resize it in your browser.
Download resized imageWhen you need an image resizer
Images often get cropped or look blurry when uploaded with the wrong dimensions. This tool helps you resize photos, change image dimensions, and convert to WebP quickly before publishing. Processing happens in your browser, so it is useful for thumbnails, social share images, and blog cover images without an upload step. You can enter exact width and height, pick a preset, and choose whether to keep the whole image or crop into the target frame.
Key features
- Presets: Instagram square (1080×1080), OG (1200×630), blog thumbnail, and more
- Manual mode for custom width and height
- Aspect-ratio lock to avoid stretching
- Fit modes: keep the whole image with padding, fill/crop to the target, or stretch exactly
- Output formats: save as PNG, WebP, or JPEG with quality control
- Padding color for fit mode and transparent pixels in JPEG output
- Error guidance for empty files, non-image files, invalid dimensions, and oversized output
- Shows original, target, output size, and fit mode
- Mobile-safe limits to reduce browser freezes with very large images
How to use
1) Upload an image
Upload the JPG, PNG, or WebP image you want to resize. The original dimensions are filled in automatically. Non-image files and oversized images show a clear message in the result area.
2) Pick a preset or enter a custom size
Choose a preset for your use case or type the exact pixel width and height. Very large values are limited to protect browser memory.
3) Choose the fit mode
Use fit mode when the whole image must remain visible, crop mode when the target frame should be filled, or stretch mode when exact pixels matter more than preserving proportions.
4) Choose output format and quality
Use PNG for logos and transparent images, or WebP/JPEG for photos and lighter blog uploads. JPEG cannot preserve transparent pixels, so check the padding color before exporting. Choose WebP first when smaller file size matters, or JPEG when broad compatibility matters more.
5) Resize and download
Check the canvas preview and output details, then download the resized image.
Practical tips
- Blog cover images are easy to manage at 16:9 (e.g., 800×450).
- For social share cards, start with 1200×630 for broad compatibility.
- Use fit mode when product photos or screenshots must not be cropped.
- Transparent PNG areas become the selected padding color when you export to JPEG.
- On mobile, resize very large camera photos to around 1200px first to reduce export failures.
- If an upload form requires a square image, try fit mode before crop mode to avoid cutting off important edges.
- After resizing, use PNG Compressor to reduce file size further.
- For YouTube thumbnails, banners, and icons, try the YouTube Image Kit Maker.
